Egypt’s Startup Teen Competition Crowns First Winners Fusing AI And Entrepreneurship

The inaugural Startup Teen competition, an initiative by iSchool, has concluded its first edition, celebrating its winners at a final “National Day” event held at The British University in Egypt. The competition stands as the first of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East, uniquely designed to merge entrepreneurship with artificial intelligence and applied technology for students aged 13 to 18.

Nurturing The Next Generation Of Tech Founders

The core mission of Startup Teen is to discover and cultivate a new generation of entrepreneurs equipped to solve real-world problems using modern technology. The first edition saw impressive participation, with over 800 students from 40 different schools—including public, private, international, and applied technology institutions—forming 140 teams. This diverse engagement highlights a growing interest in tech and innovation at the pre-university level across Egypt.

Backed By Public And Private Sector Leaders

The initiative’s success was bolstered by significant support from a wide array of influential partners. The competition was held under the patronage of the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and forged strategic partnerships with local and global giants such as Microsoft, IBM, DMZ, Fekretak Sherketak, Mobica, and WE. International collaboration with entities like Start School and Riga TechGirls from Latvia also added a global dimension to the event, reflecting its high standard and appeal.

Top Student Innovations Awarded

After a series of competitive rounds, the final event recognized the top three teams for their innovative projects. The winners of the Startup Teen 2025 competition are:

  • First Place: Team NextPay from the WE Applied Technology School, receiving a cash prize of 100,000 EGP.
  • Second Place: Team BreScan from El Orman Official Secondary Language School, receiving a cash prize of 50,000 EGP.
  • Third Place: Team ECOVOLTIX from the National Bank of Egypt Technical School, receiving a cash prize of 25,000 EGP.
