The introduction of Apple Pay enables Telda users to make purchases by simply holding their iPhone or Apple Watch near a payment terminal. This service is widely accepted across various merchants, including grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, and retail outlets that support contactless payments. Beyond physical stores, the service extends to the digital realm, allowing for faster and more convenient checkouts within apps and on websites using Safari. This eliminates the need for users to repeatedly enter card details or create new accounts for online purchases.

A Focus on Security and Privacy

A core component of the Apple Pay integration is its robust security framework. When a user adds their Telda card to Apple Pay, the actual card number is not stored on the device or on Apple’s servers. Instead, a unique and encrypted Device Account Number is assigned and stored within the Secure Element, an industry-standard certified chip designed to safeguard payment information. Every transaction is then authenticated through Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode, and is further protected by a one-time dynamic security code, ensuring a highly secure payment process.

Onboarding and User Experience

Setting up the service is a straightforward process for Telda customers. Users can add their prepaid Telda cards to Apple Pay by navigating to the Wallet app on their iPhone and following the on-screen instructions. Once a card is added, it can be used immediately across all compatible Apple devices, including iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac. Importantly, customers will continue to receive all the rewards and benefits associated with their Telda cards when using Apple Pay for their transactions.
