Egypt’s WideBot Raising $20M to Transform into AI Holding Company

Egyptian AI solutions startup WideBot is set to undergo a major strategic transformation, with plans to restructure into a holding company by 2026. This move is part of an ambitious expansion plan to consolidate its diverse activities under a unified investment entity comprising several specialized companies.

The company is currently in the process of raising a $20 million funding round, which is expected to close within the first half of this year.

A New Structure for Regional Dominance

The transition aims to create a more efficient corporate structure to manage WideBot’s growing portfolio. Mohamed Nabil, Co-founder and CEO of WideBot, revealed that the AI-focused parent company will oversee four subsidiaries by 2026-2027.

These subsidiaries will include a company dedicated to enterprise-level AI solutions, another providing affordable AI agents for SMEs, and a specialized firm for AI Voice solutions. The AI Voice venture will be a collaboration with a major publicly listed company in the traditional call center sector, aiming to re-engineer the industry by integrating AI into its core operations.

“We are currently building a new corporate structure that allows for more efficient management of our various activities,” Nabil stated in an interview.

Furthermore, WideBot plans to launch another company focused on establishing data centers in an Arab country. This initiative, in partnership with local and global players including advanced processing and chip technology firms, aims to build a sophisticated computing infrastructure. This will enable the company to run its AI models and commercialize them within local markets, creating a model similar to a “Country Cloud.”

Fueling Growth with a $20M Round

To finance this strategic pivot and expansion, WideBot is actively raising a $20 million investment round. Nabil confirmed that the company has already received initial commitments from several venture capital funds across the Middle East and beyond.
With the new capital, WideBot is targeting sales of approximately $25 million by 2026. The company remains firmly focused on the Arab market, with operational offices in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Strategic Focus on Arab Markets

WideBot has established a significant commercial presence across MENA, with sales activities in markets such as Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Oman, and Qatar. The company is also exploring potential expansion into the Iraqi market through local partnerships.

While an IPO is on the table as a medium-term option, Nabil clarified it is not an immediate priority and would likely not occur for another two to three years. “The priority now is to solidify our business model, enhance our commercial use cases, and achieve stronger operational stability,” he explained.

About WideBot

Founded in 2016 by Seif Ahmed, Mohamed Moustafa, and Mohamed Nabil, WideBot began as a platform for building chatbots in English before pioneering the development of Arabic-language chatbot solutions. It has become the first specialized platform in the MENA region for designing and creating Arabic conversational bots. The no-code platform enables users to build their own smart chatbots in under 10 minutes, serving clients ranging from large enterprises and government entities to SMEs.
