The Bahrain chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) has announced the launch of the Farouk Almoayyed Bahrain Award for Global Student Entrepreneurship. This new initiative, created in partnership with regional technology leader Almoayyed Computer Middle East (ACME), aims to foster young entrepreneurial talent in the Kingdom and honor the legacy of the late Farouk Almoayyed, one of Bahrain’s most prominent business leaders.
The award will enhance the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA), EO’s premier program designed to discover and support student founders who are successfully running businesses while pursuing their academic studies.
Honoring a Business Legacy
The initiative serves as a tribute to the pioneering spirit of Farouk Almoayyed, who was widely respected across the Gulf region for his entrepreneurial contributions and unwavering commitment to developing national talent. His vision of creating opportunities for young people has inspired countless business leaders, and this award aims to institutionalize his legacy by investing directly in the next generation.
A Strategic Push for Bahrain’s Vision 2030
The launch of the award comes at a pivotal time for Bahrain as the Kingdom actively works to diversify its economy and establish innovation and entrepreneurship as key pillars of its Vision 2030. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to nurturing young talent and strengthening their role in driving sustainable economic development.
Mohammed Farouk Almoayyed, Chairman of Almoayyed International Group, stated, “This award is more than a tribute; it embodies our commitment to perpetuating Farouk Almoayyed’s vision of empowering future generations. We believe that investing in student entrepreneurs today is the foundation for Bahrain’s innovative economy of tomorrow. This initiative will have a sustainable impact on the Kingdom’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
Bob Thacker, GSEA Chair at EO Bahrain, emphasized the transformative potential of the partnership. “I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Almoayyed family for their unwavering belief in this initiative,” he said. “Their contribution not only honors the legacy of the late Farouk Almoayyed but also aligns with the Kingdom’s future vision of building a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. Both EO Bahrain and ACME look forward to empowering young entrepreneurs, stimulating innovation, and continuing a legacy that will shape Bahrain’s future for years to come.”
