The Women’s Pavilion at Expo City Dubai has announced the launch of the FemTech Hub, a strategic initiative designed to bridge critical gaps in women’s healthcare across the Middle East. Developed in partnership with the Meem Foundation, PeriCare, and American Hospital Dubai, the hub serves as a dedicated platform for expert-led learning, research-to-market programs, and entrepreneurship support. By focusing on female technology—an industry projected to reach $267 billion globally by 2035—the hub aims to transform healthcare access and knowledge for women at every stage of life.
A Collaborative Ecosystem for Specialized Healthcare
The FemTech Hub is built on a foundation of multi-sector collaboration, bringing together philanthropic, clinical, and innovation leaders. The Meem Foundation, a UAE-based philanthropic organization, joins the initiative to ensure that health awareness and primary care become a standard rather than a privilege for women in the MENA region. American Hospital Dubai provides the clinical expertise necessary to support evidence-based innovation, while PeriCare, a maternal health innovation studio, integrates science and design to reimagine solutions grounded in the lived experiences of women.
Driving Impact Through Research and Entrepreneurship
In its inaugural year, the FemTech Hub has set ambitious targets to accelerate the regional femtech ecosystem. The hub plans to:
- Support more than 15 specialized startups through dedicated incubation and resources.
- Engage with over 1,000 women through community outreach and health education.
- Train upward of 100 clinicians in the latest advancements in female-focused technology.
- Validate real-world femtech solutions to ensure they are market-ready and medically credible.
A Robust Calendar of Regional Initiatives
The hub’s operational framework includes several recurring programs designed to foster continuous engagement and innovation. These include the “Her Health Summit,” an annual gathering for clinicians and policymakers, and the “Her Health Majlis,” which offers monthly, stigma-free educational sessions open to the public. Additionally, the “Innovators Network” will serve as a permanent platform connecting researchers, startups, and investors across the MENA region to ensure women’s health innovation has a permanent home in the Middle East.
