Abu Dhabi-based artificial intelligence powerhouse G42 has announced its intent to develop and implement an enhanced assurance framework designed to secure the export, deployment, and stewardship of advanced US-origin AI semiconductors operating within its infrastructure. This move builds upon the UAE’s participation in the US-led Pax Silica initiative and aims to set a new standard for trusted AI collaboration on a global scale.
A New Model for Trusted AI Collaboration
The framework is intended to establish a scalable model that strengthens transparency, regulatory alignment, and infrastructure-level governance across the global AI supply chain. By creating a structured Common Operating Picture, G42 will provide continuous and verifiable visibility into the location, control, and authorized use of advanced US-origin AI semiconductors deployed within its ecosystem.
This initiative is designed to build trust and responsible use directly into the compute layer, allowing G42 and its partners to provide necessary assurances to third parties, particularly under agreements like the US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership.
Cryptographic Verification and Continuous Monitoring
Moving beyond traditional compliance methods that rely on periodic audits, the new framework will deploy advanced cryptographic mechanisms. This innovative approach will track compute utilization across regulated clusters, enabling secure token-level tracking and verification.
The system will provide enhanced assurance regarding the integrity, origin, and authorized application of all AI workloads operating within G42’s infrastructure, hardwiring compliance and transparency directly into the technology itself.
The Regulated Technology Environment
These advanced US-origin semiconductors will operate within G42’s Regulated Technology Environment, a secure computing framework developed in close coordination with the US and UAE governments. Described by the company as a “gold standard,” this environment enables the deployment of regulated US technologies in full compliance with license obligations and export control requirements.
The environment incorporates robust physical and logical access controls, personnel screening, strict authorization protocols, continuous monitoring, and logging and segregation mechanisms, all aligned with US cybersecurity standards including NIST SP 800-53 principles.
Bolstering the Pax Silica Initiative
G42’s assurance framework is a significant step in reinforcing the goals of Pax Silica, the US-led initiative to secure AI and semiconductor supply chains. The UAE joined the declaration in January, alongside Qatar, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Britain, and Australia. The program seeks to safeguard the full technology supply chain from critical minerals to computing and data infrastructure.
G42’s framework is intended to serve not only its own infrastructure but also as a replicable blueprint for trusted AI ecosystems across all Pax Silica partner countries.
