Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem, Hub71, has launched Hub71+ Life Sciences, a new specialist ecosystem designed to accelerate the development and commercialisation of innovation in BioTech, MedTech, and digital health. The initiative aims to position Abu Dhabi as a global launchpad for life sciences founders by providing direct access to a comprehensive network of regulators, hospitals, investors, and industry partners.
An Integrated Ecosystem for Health Innovation
Hub71+ Life Sciences offers global founders a structured entry point into Abu Dhabi’s integrated health cluster. The ecosystem is built to support startups at every stage, from early clinical validation to market access, by combining policy, capital, research, and clinical deployment. This approach is designed to fast-track the translation of scientific research into tangible patient outcomes and scalable commercial ventures, strengthening the UAE capital’s position in global healthcare innovation.
Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, stated, “With Hub71+ Life Sciences, we are channeling our experience into a dedicated environment where founders, researchers, market players, and investors can collaborate to advance healthcare innovation. The initiative targets startups developing breakthrough solutions in HealthTech, BioTech, and life sciences, strengthening Abu Dhabi’s role in driving global healthcare innovation.”
Strategic Partnerships Driving Growth
The new ecosystem launches with a formidable lineup of strategic partners committed to creating a high-functioning life sciences economy. The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE), and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office’s (ADIO) HELM cluster join as Founding Partners, highlighting the emirate’s focus on precision medicine and data-driven care.
The platform is further reinforced by Anchor Partners including the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA), Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, and Ultrahuman. A total of 12 partners, including Capital Partners like Global Ventures, Globivest, and Nuwa Capital, and Corporate Partners such as Masdar City and NMC Healthcare, will collaborate with startups to provide investment, facilitate proofs-of-concept, and accelerate market entry. This initiative builds on the momentum of existing Hub71 startups like BioSapien, Ovasave, and Biotwin, which are already making strides in oncology, fertility, and AI-driven medicine.
