HUMAIN Taps AWS To Deploy 150,000 AI Accelerators In New Riyadh AI Zone

4 Min Read

In a landmark move set to position Saudi Arabia as a global force in artificial intelligence, the Kingdom’s national AI company, HUMAIN, has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deploy up to 150,000 AI accelerators in a new campus facility designated as an “AI Zone” in Riyadh. This initiative represents one of the largest concentrations of AI computing capacity in the world.

The announcement, made at the US-Saudi Investment Forum, underscores the Kingdom’s ambition to compete directly in the global AI infrastructure and compute services markets, moving beyond serving only domestic demand.

A Global AI Hub In The Making

The new AI Zone will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, featuring US semiconductor giant NVIDIA’s latest GB300 AI systems alongside AWS’s proprietary Trainium AI accelerators. This powerful combination is engineered to support the full spectrum of intensive AI workloads, from model training to inference.

This mega-deal is designed from the ground up to serve both Saudi Arabia’s national AI priorities and the rapidly accelerating worldwide demand for high-performance AI compute capacity, solidifying Riyadh’s status as a critical node in the global technology landscape.

Deepening A Strategic Partnership

This deployment significantly expands the strategic partnership formed between the two entities in May 2025, which included an AWS commitment to invest over $5 billion in AI infrastructure, services, and talent development within Saudi Arabia. As part of the enhanced collaboration, AWS will become HUMAIN’s preferred AI partner globally.

Furthermore, HUMAIN will join the AWS Solution Provider Program. This will enable customers to access AWS services through a unified platform, streamlining AI adoption for enterprises across the region and internationally.

Powering National and Regional AI Adoption

The AI Zone will provide customers access to a suite of specialized AWS generative AI services, including Amazon Bedrock, Amazon AgentCore, and Amazon SageMaker. These platforms offer access to leading foundation models through a single interface, abstracting infrastructure management and allowing innovators to focus on building transformative applications.

A key focus of the partnership will be to accelerate AI adoption across Saudi public and private sectors. Collaborative efforts will include the development of advanced Arabic large language models, such as HUMAIN’s Arabic-first model ALLAM, and the creation of a unified AI agent marketplace for government services.

Upskilling The Kingdom’s Workforce

Complementing the infrastructure investment, AWS is committed to developing local talent through its Amazon Academy. In collaboration with the Public Investment Fund (PIF), AWS will train 100,000 Saudi citizens in cloud computing and generative AI.

This program includes a dedicated initiative to train 10,000 women, preparing the national workforce for an AI-powered economy that is projected to contribute $130 billion to Saudi Arabia’s GDP by 2030.
