Humain Unveils Major Data Center Venture With Tech Giants AMD And Cisco

3 Min Read

Saudi Arabian artificial intelligence company Humain has announced a landmark joint venture with global technology leaders AMD and Cisco, aimed at developing a network of large-scale data centers across the Middle East. The collaboration, confirmed by the CEOs of all three companies, signals a significant step in bolstering the region’s digital infrastructure capabilities.

Project Kicks Off With 100 MW Facility In The Kingdom

The venture’s inaugural project will be the construction of a 100-megawatt data center in Saudi Arabia. In a major vote of confidence, Humain’s CEO, Tariq Amin, revealed that generative video company Luma AI has already contracted to purchase the entire capacity of this first facility.

“They will be the first customer for this cluster,” Amin stated, confirming Luma AI’s reservation of the full 100 MW capacity.

A Strategic Partnership Backed By The PIF

This partnership is part of a series of technology agreements established during high-level diplomatic visits between the United States and Saudi Arabia. Humain’s expansion into large-scale data center development is supported by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which is leveraging the Kingdom’s vast land availability and low-cost energy resources.

Under the terms of the joint venture, AMD and Cisco will hold minority stakes, sharing in both profits and losses. Humain will lead the project, with AMD CEO Lisa Su affirming the collaborative approach: “Together, we will be responsible for making this successful.”

Ambitious Vision For A 4.5 Billion Person Market

The joint venture has set its sights on serving a vast market spanning Asia, Europe, India, the Middle East, and Africa, which encompasses a population of 4.5 billion people.

The long-term strategy includes an ambitious plan to build up to 1 gigawatt of data center capacity by 2030. Highlighting strong early demand, Amin confirmed that Humain is already receiving pre-orders for future facilities, even before construction on the first phase has commenced.

Tech Giants Powering The Infrastructure

For the initial 100 MW phase, scheduled to begin construction in 2026, the partners will provide their core technologies. AMD will supply its advanced MI450 AI chips, while Cisco will provide state-of-the-art networking and infrastructure equipment. The project will be powered entirely by renewable energy sources.

Cisco’s role extends beyond hardware. CEO Chuck Robbins emphasized that the company will leverage its 25 years of global sales expertise to help Humain commercialize its new data center capabilities and reach a global customer base.
