The International Free Zone Authority (IFZA), in a strategic partnership with the global innovation platform Plug and Play, has officially launched the first cohort of its “Scale360” program. The initiative is designed to provide entrepreneurs with a direct pathway to scale their businesses within the thriving UAE market by offering mentorship, essential resources, and strategic networking opportunities.
A High-Support Pathway To The UAE Market
Distinguishing itself from traditional accelerators, Scale360 operates as a free, high-support program tailored to fast-track market entry for global startups. Over three months, the 17 selected companies will receive hands-on assistance in establishing their operations, complemented by industry-specific mentorship. The program provides a unique blend of IFZA’s licensing and business setup services with direct connections to Plug and Play’s extensive network of major corporations, investors, and government partners. “With the launch of Scale360, we are empowering ambitious founders to take their ideas further and faster,” said Julia Tims, Chief Commercial Officer at IFZA.
Inaugural Cohort Selected From Global Applicants
The program’s launch garnered significant international interest, attracting 136 applications from a wide range of sectors across the globe. Following a rigorous selection process, this pool was narrowed down to 56 tech startups, with a final 17 innovative projects chosen for the inaugural cohort. This diverse group of companies is focused on addressing some of the most prominent challenges facing the business world today through technology.
Tapping Into A Booming Ecosystem
The Scale360 program arrives at a time of unprecedented growth in the UAE’s startup landscape. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the nation’s tech startups raised a remarkable $872 million in funding, an 865% year-on-year increase. The program is set to be highly integrated into the local ecosystem, with key activities planned during major industry events, including GITEX week in October and a dedicated Demo Week scheduled for the end of November.
