Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, in a strategic partnership with Riyadh-based innovation leader SEA Ventures, has announced the launch of a new business incubator, “Sahabat Al-Imam” (Imam Cloud). The initiative was unveiled during the Biban 2025 forum, a premier event for small and medium-sized enterprises organized by Monsha’at.
Fostering University-Led Entrepreneurship
The core mission of Sahabat Al-Imam is to stimulate innovation and cultivate a robust entrepreneurial culture within the university. The incubator is designed to empower students and faculty members by providing the necessary resources and support to transform their novel ideas into market-ready products and services. This focus on academic-driven enterprise is set to contribute significantly to Saudi Arabia’s growing knowledge economy.
A Strategic Alignment with Vision 2030
This launch is a key component of a broader strategy by both the university and SEA Ventures to forge strong partnerships with entities supporting innovation across the Kingdom. By activating the role of academic institutions in the startup ecosystem, the initiative aims to empower national talent and develop a sustainable entrepreneurial environment, directly aligning with the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Launchpad at Biban 2025
The announcement was made at the upcoming Biban 2025 forum, scheduled for November 5-8 in Riyadh under the theme “A Global Destination for Opportunities.” Organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at), Biban is a major platform that connects entrepreneurs and SMEs with opportunities in funding, franchising, and market access, making it a fitting venue to introduce a new pillar of ecosystem support.
