INSEAD, The Business School for the World, and SC Ventures, the innovation and ventures unit of Standard Chartered, have announced the launch of Lexarius, an AI-powered EdTech venture designed to unlock human potential by making learning deeply experiential. The new venture has established an office in ADGM, Abu Dhabi, and is now available to enterprise clients across the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.

Key Highlights

The new platform introduces a breakthrough approach to corporate learning and development:

  • New EdTech Venture: The launch of Lexarius, an AI-powered role-play and coaching platform.
  • Strategic Partnership: A collaboration between INSEAD and SC Ventures, the innovation arm of Standard Chartered.
  • Core Technology: The platform uses advanced avatars and agentic AI to deliver engaging conversations, recreate challenging workplace scenarios, and provide real-time personalized coaching.
  • Global Reach: The platform is available in over 20 languages and serves clients across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East from its new Abu Dhabi office.

A New Era of Experiential Learning

As the need for reskilling and upskilling grows, Lexarius is designed to address this by offering a scalable and cost-effective extension to traditional corporate training methods. The platform uses advanced AI to deliver engaging conversations that respond dynamically to learner input, recreating challenging workplace scenarios in areas like leadership, business development, and customer service. After each conversation, it provides real-time personalized coaching and feedback, creating a powerful learning loop.

“This venture strongly reflects INSEAD’s commitment to human-centered AI and our belief that technology should amplify human potential,” said Francisco Veloso, Dean of INSEAD.

A Partnership of Academic Excellence and Venture-Building Execution

Lexarius combines the strengths of its founding institutions: INSEAD’s deep expertise in executive education and SC Ventures’ enterprise-grade infrastructure. The venture is led by CEO and Founder Peter Zemsky, who brings over 15 years of leadership experience from INSEAD, where he served as Deputy Dean and Dean of Innovation.

“Lexarius shows what’s possible when academic excellence meets venture-building execution,” said Alex Manson, CEO of SC Ventures. “It fills a critical gap in corporate training with a scalable solution that enhances behavioural change—the decisive factor that so often determines whether corporate transformations succeed or fail”.
