Jordan’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship has officially launched the National Digital Transformation Strategy for 2026–2028. The comprehensive framework is designed to create a digitally empowered, secure, and sustainable Jordan by harnessing technology and innovation to fuel economic growth and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
Key Highlights
The strategy is built on five core pillars to create a holistic and integrated digital future:
- 5 Strategic Pillars: Digital Infrastructure, Seamless Government Services, Digital Identity & Signature, Privacy & Digital Trust, and Digital Inclusion.
- 3 Core Visions: The plan aligns directly with the Economic Modernization Vision, the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap, and the Political Modernization Document.
- 4 Main Beneficiaries: The strategy is designed to benefit government entities, individuals, the private sector, and government employees.
- AI Integration: The plan emphasizes the foundational role of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies in its implementation.
Building a Modern, Citizen-Centric Government
A central goal of the strategy is to modernize public services by delivering integrated and reliable digital government platforms. The plan follows a “digital by design” approach, aiming to create unified, citizen-centric services that are proactive and eliminate the need for citizens to repeatedly submit the same data to different entities. This focus on seamless services is intended to enhance public confidence and improve the efficiency of government operations.
Fueling a Competitive Digital Economy
The strategy outlines a clear path to developing a competitive national digital economy driven by innovation and entrepreneurship. By establishing an advanced and secure digital infrastructure, the government aims to create a fertile ground for the private sector to thrive. This includes fostering strategic partnerships between public, private, and academic institutions to accelerate technology adoption and localize expertise.
An Inclusive and Secure Digital Future
Underpinning the entire strategy is a commitment to digital inclusion and trust. The plan aims to ensure that all segments of society can benefit from the digital transformation, narrowing the digital divide through universal access and enhanced digital literacy. Furthermore, a strong emphasis is placed on creating robust legislative frameworks for data governance and privacy, ensuring a secure and trustworthy digital environment for everyone.
