Jordanian EdTech company Alfredo Educational has announced its acquisition of the UK-based private tutoring platform, Tutor House, in a deal valued at $600,000. This strategic move is a key component of Alfredo’s plan to expand its digital education services across key markets in Europe and the Middle East.
A Vision for Integrated Learning
The acquisition aims to create a comprehensive, integrated educational platform that combines digital learning resources with personalized private tutoring. By merging Alfredo’s extensive digital library with Tutor House’s established network of educators, the company plans to offer a more holistic and effective learning experience for students.
Alfredo’s platform currently provides a suite of tools including interactive practice tests, educational summaries for teachers, past exams, and a wide range of resources covering major international curricula. The company initially launched as a marketplace for used books before evolving into a comprehensive digital library for curricula and textbooks.
Expanding into the UK Market
This deal will significantly broaden access to Alfredo’s products, such as its detailed summaries and interactive question banks, for the more than four million students in the United Kingdom. Integrating its digital assets with Tutor House’s tutoring services will provide a unique value proposition in the competitive UK education market.
Tutor House, founded in 2012, has a strong focus on private tutoring services and was previously acquired by UAE-based Oktopi in 2022. This latest acquisition signals continued interest from MENA-based EdTech firms in the European market.
