Jordan’s Housing Bank Empowers 25 Youth with Disabilities in Entrepreneurship Program

3 Min Read

Jordan’s Housing Bank has supported a specialized entrepreneurship training course aimed at empowering 25 young men and women with disabilities. The initiative, implemented by the Business Development Center (BDC) in coordination with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, focuses on promoting self-employment among the participants.

By the Numbers

The program provided targeted, intensive support for its participants:

  • 25 Participants: The number of young men and women with disabilities who completed the training.
  • 10 Days: The duration of the specialized training course.
  • Key Partners: A collaboration between the Housing Bank, the Business Development Center (BDC), and the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

From Global Pledges to Local Action

This initiative is a direct result of the commitments made by the Housing Bank during the Global Disability Summit 2025, which was held in Berlin in April of this year. The support, provided under the bank’s “Imkan Al-Iskan” social responsibility umbrella, makes the Housing Bank one of the first institutions to translate commitments made at the summit into practical, on-the-ground action. The program also reflects the bank’s continuous response to the directives of the Central Bank of Jordan aimed at adapting services to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

A Comprehensive Training Curriculum

The 10-day course provided participants with the practical and cognitive tools needed to develop their entrepreneurial abilities. The curriculum covered a range of crucial topics, including:

  • Concepts and skills of entrepreneurship
  • Mechanisms for accessing finance
  • How to conduct a feasibility study

The training was designed to enable the participants to successfully integrate into the labor market and the economy.

A Collaborative Effort for Social and Economic Empowerment

This program represents a significant step towards enhancing social and economic inclusion in Jordan. The Housing Bank’s support focuses on breaking down barriers for people with disabilities and turning the challenges they face into opportunities. This contributes to building a more equitable society and ensures that everyone can participate in public and economic life.
