The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) has announced new support agreements with 12 entrepreneurial projects under its Riyadah programme. The move aims to accelerate innovation and job creation across Jordan, aligning with the country’s broader Economic Modernisation Vision.

KAFD Director-General Samer Miflih finalized the agreements, which will provide the selected startups with crucial financial and technical support to scale their operations across multiple governorates.

Fostering a Diverse and Integrated Portfolio

The selected ventures represent a strategic mix of key economic sectors, including environment, agriculture, and food; technology and the Fourth Industrial Revolution; and tourism and services. This diversity reflects KAFD’s objective to foster integration across different segments of the economy while nurturing sustainable, locally-driven enterprises.

Highlighted projects include a digital agriculture initiative in Karak focused on building a smart farm for export, a pioneering project in Zarqa that converts carbon dioxide into solid organic fertilizer, and a new adventure park in Ajloun set to enhance the region’s adventure tourism offerings.

A Rigorous and Transparent Selection Process

To ensure the highest standards of transparency and quality, the 12 projects were chosen through a comprehensive multi-stage evaluation. The process involved detailed technical assessments, reviews by expert committees, in-depth interviews with founders, and on-site field visits. This rigorous approach ensures that the supported ventures are well-positioned for success and long-term impact.
