The initiative represents a significant step in the country’s digital transformation strategy, aiming to modernize law enforcement and enhance national security through advanced technology.
Smart Patrols on the Streets
The new AI-powered patrols feature a suite of integrated technologies designed for real-time data collection and analysis. Mobile cameras are linked directly to AI systems capable of performing immediate facial and license plate recognition. This information is cross-referenced with central databases in real-time to identify wanted persons or vehicles. Additionally, field personnel are equipped with mobile fingerprint scanners and automated plate detection tools to ensure faster and more accurate on-the-ground operations.
A Data-Driven Approach to Security
Officials stated that the deployment is a core component of Kuwait’s push to build a smarter, data-driven security framework. By embedding AI into its operational systems, the Ministry aims to significantly accelerate response times, improve the accuracy of its security operations, and proactively manage public safety. The project was overseen by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef.

This high-tech security system was developed by national specialists working within the Ministry’s own Human Resources and Information Technology Sector.
