Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways Becomes First Local Airline to Introduce Fly Now Pay Later Payments

3 Min Read

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, has announced a new partnership with deema, the country’s first licensed “Buy Now, Pay Later” (BNPL) payment solution. This collaboration marks Jazeera as the first airline in Kuwait to offer travelers the flexibility of BNPL financing for their flight bookings.

A Seamless Homegrown Integration

As part of its ongoing digital transformation project, Jazeera Airways has integrated deema’s payment solution directly into its booking platform. The partnership empowers passengers to split the cost of their flights into two to four interest-free installments, making travel more accessible and financially manageable.

Barathan Pasupathi, CEO of Jazeera Airways, commented on the milestone integration.
“By achieving our fastest ever payment integration with deema, we are not just adding a payment method; we are providing a seamless, Kuwaiti homegrown financial solution. This partnership empowers our passengers to ‘Fly Now and Pay Later’ with absolute ease, reinforcing our mission to make travel accessible to everyone.”

Enhancing the Customer Experience

The deema platform is fully embedded within the Jazeera booking process, offering instant eligibility checks at checkout. This ensures a smooth and uninterrupted experience for customers. While passengers make their payments in Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) over time, deema ensures that Jazeera Airways receives the full booking value upfront, handling all subsequent collections from the customer.

Bolstering Digital Strategy and Local Collaboration

This launch is a key component of Jazeera Airways’ broader digital strategy, which focuses on leveraging technology to enhance the customer journey. The collaboration also highlights a commitment to supporting the local fintech ecosystem by partnering with innovative Kuwaiti companies like deema.
