Kuwait-based online payment management provider Ottu has unveiled ECHO, a new platform powered by agentic AI designed to autonomously manage dispute resolution, merchant assistance, and platform configuration. The company states this launch makes it the first fintech in the region to deploy AI-driven applications for these specific operational functions.
Automating Dispute and Operations Management
ECHO is built to fundamentally change how merchants manage payments and customer interactions. Its core functions include AI-enabled dispute management for faster and more accurate issue resolution. A key feature is its “transaction story tracking,” which provides contextual debugging of payment flows, allowing merchants to quickly identify and fix transaction problems. The platform also allows for system control through natural language, enabling users to provision new merchants, configure integrations, and manage settings with simple commands.
Advanced Fraud Detection and Integration
Beyond operational support, ECHO incorporates sophisticated security features. It uses behavioral fraud intelligence, leveraging data engineering and AI analysis to detect anomalies and mitigate potential fraud risks before they escalate. The platform also enables account-to-account integrations, allowing merchants to link their own AI agents directly into Ottu’s ecosystem for more seamless task execution and payment collection.
A Regional First in Fintech AI
The platform leverages technologies from Google AI and OpenAI to create a system that acts on behalf of merchants. “ECHO represents a milestone in Ottu’s journey to redefine online payments and merchant empowerment,” said Talal Alawadhi, CEO of Ottu. “We are building a system that doesn’t just respond to merchants; it acts on their behalf, autonomously resolving disputes, orchestrating platform operations, and anticipating risks before they occur.”
