Algerian innovation hub Leancubator has announced major victories for its portfolio companies following the “Startup Factory” side event held during the African Startup Conference 2025. The event, which serves as a platform for emerging ventures to showcase their solutions, saw Leancubator-supported startups dominating the final stage. Organized under the leadership of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises, the competition highlighted the growing competitiveness of Algerian startups in critical sectors such as cybersecurity and tourism.
Securing Top Prizes In Cybersecurity And Tourism
The event culminated in a competitive pitching track where startups vied for recognition and funding. Cyber Orb, an AI-powered cybersecurity and digital education startup, claimed the top honor, securing a 500,000 DZD prize. The company was recognized for its innovative “CyberKits” and awareness programs designed for individuals, companies, and public institutions. Additionally, Tahwissa, a digital platform focused on the tourism sector, was awarded the 300,000 DZD prize. Tahwissa enables tourism operators to enhance their digital visibility and service management, addressing a vital need for digital transformation in the local travel industry.
Intensive Preparation And Ecosystem Support
The road to the finals involved a rigorous support program designed to prepare founders for the high-stakes environment of the African Startup Conference. Over the course of a week, 13 startups participated in intensive training sessions guided by industry experts Farid Arab and Ahmida Ferhat. These preparation activities, hosted at Leancubator’s premises, focused on refining business models and pitch delivery. The program’s effectiveness was evident as seven startups supported by Leancubator qualified for the final stage, pitching directly to a jury to compete for cash prizes provided by the Algerian Confederation of Citizen Employers (CAPC).
