Lebanon And Jordan Social Enterprises Secure Long-Term Funding Via Alfanar Aspire-VP Cycle

3 Min Read

Alfanar Venture Philanthropy has announced that three social enterprises—Darat Space, Bedayati, and Tri-Pulley—have transitioned into its long-term Aspire-VP cycle. This follow-on support, funded by RDPP III, comes after the entities successfully completed an early-stage support phase last year. The new phase of engagement is designed to deepen community impact while reinforcing the financial sustainability and operational systems of these high-growth organizations.

Scaling Economic Opportunity Through Innovative Models

The selected enterprises have developed unique frameworks to advance economic opportunities within their respective communities in Lebanon and Jordan. Over the past year, Alfanar has worked closely with these founders to refine their local innovations into models capable of sustainable, systemic change. By moving into the Aspire-VP cycle, these entities receive the backing necessary to translate their initial proof-of-concept into scalable operations that address regional employment and entrepreneurship gaps.

Regional Impact And Performance Metrics

The three enterprises have demonstrated significant social and economic output, with specific targets set for continued growth through 2025:

  • Tri-Pulley (Lebanon): Focuses on transforming events and products into paid, skills-based roles for women, refugees, and persons with disabilities. It has trained 95 people and secured 40 long-term jobs.
  • Darat Space (Jordan): Develops community spaces for youth to learn and collaborate on creative industries and entrepreneurship. The initiative has trained 2,000 young people and secured 86 employment opportunities.
  • Bedayati (Lebanon): Utilizes a social catering arm to generate revenue that funds skills training and employment pathways for marginalized youth and women. It has provided training to 130 young people and secured 16 jobs.
