The International Labour Organization (ILO), in collaboration with Berytech, has launched an intensive acceleration program focused on the critical intersection of agriculture, energy, and water. The initiative invites Lebanese startups and SMEs with sustainable solutions to apply for a chance to receive technical support, in-kind grants, and real-world implementation opportunities.
By the Numbers
- $6,500: The value of the in-kind support and catalytic grants for each selected business.
- 8-10: Ambitious startups and SMEs will be selected for the cohort.
- 2: Tailored tracks to support startups at different growth stages.
- August 17, 2025: The final deadline for applications.
Program Overview and Mission
This innovation program is part of the “Building Inclusive Markets and Decent Work for Syrian Refugees and Lebanese Host Communities (BOUZOUR)” project, which is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The mission is to help businesses deploy or scale sustainable technologies for a greener future, boosting productivity, creating decent jobs, and strengthening resilience across the water, energy, and agriculture value chains.
A Two-Track Acceleration Path
The program includes two tailored tracks designed to match each startup’s specific growth stage:
- Catalyst Track (for 5-6 startups): For early-stage ventures that need support to stabilize and gain momentum. This track includes catalytic grants for immediate priorities like running a pilot or launching small-scale production.
- Scale-up Track (for 3-4 startups): For startups with some traction that are ready to grow faster. This track provides advanced technical support, investment readiness coaching, and milestone-based grants for growth costs like upgrading equipment.
What Startups Will Receive
All selected businesses in both tracks will receive a comprehensive support package, including:
- In-kind support and grants valued at $6,500.
- Tailored technical assistance and business mentorship.
- Workshops on green transformation, sales, marketing, and pitching.
- Field implementation and pilot opportunities.
- Access to a diverse network of cooperatives, farmers, and ecosystem enablers.
Who Should Apply?
The program is looking for 8-10 forward-thinking Lebanese startups or SMEs with solutions that can be adapted to the agriculture sector. Applicants should also:
- Have a working MVP or be in the growth stage.
