The Directorate of Labor in Luxor has launched a specialized training program focused on financial literacy and capacity building, in a strategic effort to enhance the skills of its employees and better equip them to support the local job market and aspiring entrepreneurs. The initiative was held at the Aton branch of Banque Misr.

According to Mahmoud Bassel, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor in Luxor, the program is designed to empower directorate staff with the necessary skills to effectively guide young people entering the workforce and to foster a stronger culture of entrepreneurship within the governorate.

Fostering a Culture of Entrepreneurship

The training curriculum covered a range of critical topics essential for navigating the modern professional landscape. Participants engaged in sessions on creating professional CVs, building an effective LinkedIn presence, and gaining a comprehensive understanding of financial literacy and banking products.

The core of the program was dedicated to entrepreneurship, providing a foundational knowledge base for employees who will in turn advise and support new business founders in the region.

A Focus on Sustainable and Green Projects

In collaboration with Banque Misr as part of the NilePreneurs initiative, the program also featured specialized lectures on establishing new ventures with a focus on sustainability and green projects. These sessions were led by a number of business development specialists, aiming to align new business creation with national goals for sustainable development.

At the conclusion of the training, 15 employees were awarded a certified certificate from the Egyptian Banking Institute. This marks a significant step in the governorate’s commitment to improving the quality of services offered to job seekers and entrepreneurs. Bassel emphasized that this initiative reflects the directives of the Minister of Labor, Hassan Shehata, and is supervised by the Governor of Luxor, Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, to create tangible employment opportunities for youth.
