A Strategic Partnership to Build Sustainable Communities

The partnership between Madinet Masr and Orange Corners, an initiative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, reflects a shared commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Egypt. The graduation event highlighted the initiative’s success in providing young entrepreneurs with the practical tools and skills needed to turn their ideas into scalable projects. This aligns with Madinet Masr’s “Building Communities” strategy, which focuses on investing in human capital.

“Innovation and entrepreneurship are the cornerstone of building a competitive economy capable of facing future challenges,” said Eng. Abdullah Salam, CEO and Managing Director of Madinet Masr. “Our partnership with the Orange Corners initiative aligns with our vision for sustainable development, as we seek to empower youth in the Delta and Upper Egypt… contributing to the creation of startups capable of growth, expansion, and creating real job opportunities.”

International Support and a Focus on Inclusivity

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Ambassador Peter Mollema, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Egypt. He expressed his pride in the partnership, noting that the Orange Corners program reflects his country’s belief in youth and entrepreneurship as key drivers of economic growth. He also highlighted the initiative’s special focus on empowering female founders, ensuring their participation rate exceeds 50%, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Driving Impact Across Key Sectors

The 2024 cohort supported over 130 entrepreneurs in diverse fields such as agriculture, creative industries, waste management, and smart climate solutions. The initiative provided intensive training programs and specialized mentorship, alongside the crucial financial grants, to help these new companies succeed and contribute to the national economy.
