The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has commenced its participation in the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), presenting a dynamic program of literary and intellectual sessions at the Expo Centre Sharjah. The event, running from November 5 to 16, 2025, serves as a key platform for MBRF to advance its mission of fostering intellectual dialogue and strengthening knowledge exchange across the MENA region and beyond.
MBRF’s pavilion is positioned as a central hub for showcasing its knowledge-based projects, diverse publications, and engaging with the public through panel discussions, workshops, and cultural activities.
A Hub for Global Knowledge Exchange
His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, highlighted the strategic importance of participating in one of the region’s largest intellectual gatherings.
“This reflects our strategy to support knowledge-driven events that advance global knowledge exchange and sustainable development,” said bin Huwaireb. “By fostering dialogue and introducing pioneering initiatives, we aim to empower societies through creativity and insight, contributing to a global knowledge ecosystem that drives progress, resilience, and transformative growth.”
Spotlighting Key Knowledge Initiatives
Central to MBRF’s presence is the Knowledge Lounge initiative, designed to facilitate direct interaction between writers and readers through daily “Coffee… Writer and Book” meetings. This is complemented by specialized workshops, such as the Book Reviews Writing Workshop, and evening sessions with prominent literary and media figures.
Additionally, the Dubai International Program for Writing (DIPW) is hosting a wide range of sessions aimed at nurturing literary talent. Key topics include “Children’s Books and Bibliotherapy” with author Wafa Al Mezghani, “Short Story Writing in the AI Age” with Islam Abou Shekier, and “How to Awaken the Reader Within Your Child?” with Maryam Jamal.
A Diverse Agenda for Modern Literary Challenges
The foundation’s program tackles a broad spectrum of contemporary literary and cultural topics. Notable sessions include “Between Greek and Arabic – The Translator’s Reflection,” “Myth in Modern Literature,” “Writing in the Face of Erasure,” and “Language and Identity in the Era of Globalization.”
These discussions aim to explore the evolving landscape of literature, addressing everything from the impact of technology on storytelling to the intersection of narrative and history. MBRF is also facilitating meetings between Emirati and Arab publishers, authors, and industry representatives to further strengthen the regional publishing ecosystem.
