In a significant move to bolster Morocco’s entrepreneurial landscape, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in partnership with Seedstars, has announced the fourth cohort of its Star Venture program. Eight promising Moroccan startups have been selected to receive targeted support aimed at accelerating their growth and scaling their innovations across local and regional markets.
A Strategic Push for Moroccan Innovation
The Star Venture program is a key strategic initiative designed to guide high-potential startups through the critical transition from early-stage concepts to sustainable, scalable businesses. The program serves as a vital platform, connecting Moroccan entrepreneurs with the resources, funding, and international expertise needed to compete in today’s advanced markets.
The Rigorous Selection Process
Thirteen shortlisted startups were initially invited to pitch their projects to a distinguished panel of investors and ecosystem leaders. The jury, tasked with identifying ventures with the highest potential for impact and growth, included prominent figures such as Lotfi Labbar from EBRD, Ghaitha Khaoulani from BMCE’s Capital Venture Fund, Dina Lahlou from AfricInvest, Khalid El Wragari from Algebra Ventures, and Sidi Mohamed El Alaoui from EmergingTech Ventures.

Following a meticulous evaluation process, eight companies were chosen to join the program. The selected startups represent a diverse range of sectors, from FinTech and HealthTech to cybersecurity and logistics, showcasing the depth of innovation within Morocco.
