Yakeey, a Moroccan proptech startup aiming to revolutionize the kingdom’s real estate sector, is set to receive up to $7 million in Series A funding from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. The investment will accelerate the platform’s product development and strengthen its position in the Moroccan market.
Rebuilding Trust In Real Estate
Founded in 2023 by real estate veteran Karim Beqqali, Yakeey was created to solve a fundamental challenge in the local market: a pervasive lack of trust. The traditional property transaction process in Morocco is often perceived as long, opaque, and stressful for all parties involved. “The major problem we identified was the patent lack of trust of actors towards each other,” Beqqali stated in a previous interview, noting that the inefficiencies exposed during the Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the need for a tech-driven solution.
A Managed End-to-End Marketplace
Unlike simple listings websites, Yakeey operates as a managed digital marketplace that provides a fully integrated, end-to-end experience. The platform brings all key stakeholders—including buyers, sellers, notaries, and banks—together under a single digital umbrella. This model is designed to simplify complex workflows, reduce friction, and provide the transparency needed to restore confidence in property transactions.
Strategic Backing For National Growth
The backing from the IFC serves as a significant validation of Yakeey’s mission and business model. The capital will be used to enhance the platform’s core features and deepen its penetration across Morocco. By digitizing the property journey, Yakeey aims to deliver shorter transaction cycles and a more seamless experience for Moroccans looking to buy, sell, or rent property.
