The Moroccan Retail Tech Builder (MRTB) has officially inaugurated its START 2.0 program at the STARTGATE campus in Ben Guerir, marking a significant milestone for the kingdom’s retail technology landscape. This initiative, hosted at the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P), has welcomed a new cohort of high-potential startups selected to undergo a rigorous acceleration process designed to modernize the traditional retail sector.
A Strategic Kick-Off For Growth
The launch event spanned three intensive days focused on establishing a robust foundation for the participating entrepreneurs. The program commenced with a 360-degree strategic diagnostic for each startup, allowing mentors and experts to evaluate the maturity of their business models. This phase is critical for tailoring the subsequent support to the specific scaling needs of each venture, ensuring that the intervention is both data-driven and impact-oriented.
Fostering Collaborative Innovation
Beyond technical assessments, START 2.0 emphasizes the creation of a strong collective identity among the founders. The kick-off facilitated high-level exchanges between startups and a network of seasoned mentors, fostering an environment of shared ambition and mutual support. By integrating expert vision with peer-to-peer experience sharing, the program aims to build a cohesive ecosystem of Moroccan “Retail Tech” champions capable of competing at a regional scale.
A Public-Private Partnership For Digital Transformation
The START 2.0 program is a structured device oriented toward high performance, moving beyond traditional mentorship to offer a specialized framework for the retail industry. The initiative is supported by key institutional players, including the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, UM6P, and the OCP Foundation. This collaborative effort reflects Morocco’s broader national strategy to promote entrepreneurship and accelerate the digitalization of its commercial infrastructure.
