In a new move to enhance financial inclusion and empower women in the business sector, Morocco’s Ministry of Economy and Finance has launched the pilot phase of the Gender Lens program. The initiative is designed to support women’s entrepreneurship and facilitate their access to the financing and resources needed to develop their projects.
Program Overview and Mission
The Gender Lens program aims to establish a practical model for promoting the financing of women-led projects and entrenching economic inclusion as a lever for sustainable development. The first pilot phase targets the Souss-Massa region, in partnership with Tamwilkom, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and a number of other institutional and regional actors.
What Participants Will Receive
The program includes a comprehensive support package for beneficiaries, including:
- Specialized training programs in management, digital marketing, bank negotiation, and professional equality.
- Access to dedicated financing mechanisms through Tamwilkom, most notably the “Ilik Istithmar” product, which provides loans of up to 5 million dirhams at a preferential interest rate of 2% for a period of up to 7 years.
Who Should Apply?
The program targets companies and enterprises that are:
- Owned or managed by women.
- Provide a female employment rate of at least 30%.
- Offer products and services aimed at women in fields such as health, education, digitization, traditional industry, and mobility.

About the Organizers
This program is part of the implementation of the framework agreement signed in December 2022 between the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Solidarity, Tamwilkom, and the Professional Group of Banks of Morocco. The pilot is run in partnership with GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation).
