The “Next Gen – الجيل الجديد” caravan has been launched in Morocco’s Fès-Meknès region, an initiative by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture aimed at fostering entrepreneurship in agricultural and para-agricultural services among rural youth. The program seeks to cultivate a new generation of leaders to drive innovation and sustainability within the country’s vital agricultural sector.
Aligned With The Green Generation Strategy
This initiative is a direct implementation of Morocco’s national “Green Generation 2020-2030” strategy, which places human capital at the center of agricultural development. The caravan’s mission is to identify and nurture young entrepreneurs who can modernize the sector and steer it towards a more sustainable future, contributing to the economic and social development of their communities.
A Mobile Platform For Opportunity
The Next Gen caravan will travel across several districts within the Fès-Meknès region to raise awareness among young people about the opportunities in agricultural services. Through a series of workshops, information sessions, and testimonials from experts, the initiative aims to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge needed to structure and develop their projects. Kamal Hidan, Regional Director of Agriculture, stated that the caravan is a unique opportunity to connect youth with existing support mechanisms for projects with a tangible impact.

The program is bolstered by significant international support. Kitouré Ponson, Director and Representative of the French Development Agency (AFD) in Rabat, noted that the AFD’s support reflects a commitment to integrating youth into the economy and enhancing the value of rural areas. Similarly, Jean-Christophe Fleury, Head of Cooperation at the European Union, highlighted that youth entrepreneurship is a key asset in addressing climate, economic, and social challenges, embodying the Green Partnership between Morocco and the EU.
