The Kingdom of Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports has renewed its partnership agreement with Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab in a strategic move to accelerate digital education and innovation throughout the nation’s schools.

The amendment was signed in Rabat by Ilham Laaziz, Director of Educational and Digital Resources at the ministry, and Hong Seok Lee, President of Samsung Electronics Maghreb Arab.

Strategic Alignment with National Roadmap

This renewed commitment is a key component of Morocco’s 2022–2026 education roadmap, a national strategy that prioritizes the deep integration of digital technologies and skills into the modern learning environment. The partnership aims to build a robust ecosystem for digital literacy, preparing both students and educators for the future of work.

Celebrating Young Programmers

The signing ceremony also served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of young talent, coinciding with the awards for the second national Python programming competition. The competition, jointly organized by the ministry and Samsung, saw teams from across Morocco showcase their coding skills.

The team from the Drâa-Tafilalet region secured first place, with the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra regions earning second and third place, respectively.

Empowering Educators Through Innovation Campus

A cornerstone of the collaboration is the Samsung Innovation Campus programme, which is dedicated to upskilling educators in high-demand fields like programming and artificial intelligence. In 2025 alone, the initiative successfully trained and certified over 261 teachers in these critical areas.

Since its inception in 2019, the programme has had a significant impact, training more than 2,000 computer science teachers in the Python programming language, with hundreds trained directly by Samsung and others through regional training centers.
