3 Min Read

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Morocco, in collaboration with leading MENA accelerator [lien suspect supprimé], has officially concluded the third cohort of the Green Growth and Jobs Accelerator Project (GGJAP). The program culminated in a strategic Investor Day held in Rabat, where participating Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) presented their innovative solutions to a room of investors, public institutions, and ecosystem stakeholders. The event marks a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s efforts to foster a resilient, green economy by bridging the gap between sustainable innovation and necessary capital.

Catalyzing the Green Transition

The Investor Day served as the finale of an intensive five-month acceleration journey. During this period, the selected SMEs underwent tailored business training, received mentorship, and accessed technical support designed to strengthen their business models. The cohort focused on high-impact sectors critical to Morocco’s sustainable development goals, including the circular economy, agritech, sustainable mobility, and resource management.

By providing these startups with a platform to pitch, the program aims to accelerate the transition of Moroccan SMEs toward business models that are not only economically viable but also environmentally regenerative and socially inclusive. The initiative highlights a growing trend in the MENA region where profitability is increasingly linked to environmental impact and long-term sustainability.

A Multilateral Partnership for Impact

The GGJAP is a collaborative effort implemented by UNDP Morocco with support from the UNDP Regional Office for the Arab States and the UNDP Nordic Representation Office. It is funded through the Danish-Arab Partnership Program (DAPP) of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This multilateral approach underscores the international commitment to supporting Morocco’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The event in Rabat was designed as a space for dialogue and deal-flow, allowing entrepreneurs to connect directly with investment actors capable of financing their growth. Beyond the pitches, the day featured thematic sessions and interactive exchanges aimed at creating concrete synergies between the private sector, international development agencies, and local innovators.
