Morocco’s Orange Launches Sovereign AI Platform Live Intelligence for Enterprises

3 Min Read

Orange Maroc has officially launched “Live Intelligence,” its new generative AI platform, in a significant move to accelerate Morocco’s secure and sovereign digital transformation. The unveiling at Technopolis Rabat gathered government officials and industry leaders, cementing the Kingdom’s ambition to become a leading hub for AI innovation in the region.

A Secure Alternative to Shadow AI

Live Intelligence is a multi-LLM Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform designed to empower enterprises in generating content, analyzing internal data, and automating workflows within a secure, localized ecosystem. Orange Maroc CEO Hendrik Kasteel emphasized that the platform directly addresses the growing challenge of “Shadow AI”—the use of unregulated public AI tools that pose significant data security risks. Live Intelligence is positioned as a secure, sovereign alternative engineered to protect national data integrity. “Our ambition is clear: to make AI accessible, safe, and inclusive for all Moroccan companies—big, medium, and emerging,” Kasteel stated.

Driving the Maroc Digital 2030 Strategy

The initiative has received strong government backing, aligning perfectly with the national “Maroc Digital 2030” strategy. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition, lauded the launch as “a concrete illustration of Morocco’s national momentum in artificial intelligence.” She highlighted that AI is a core pillar of the country’s economic transformation and that national investments in fiber, 5G, and a forthcoming sovereign cloud are critical infrastructure enablers for scaling solutions like Live Intelligence.

Leveraging Proven Technology and Local Expertise

While new to Morocco, the platform is already a proven success in Europe, where it serves over 90,000 users and has delivered measurable gains in productivity and organizational agility. The Moroccan rollout is supported by the formidable capabilities of Orange Business Maroc’s Data & AI Competence Center in Rabat. The center employs over 1,000 professionals, including 120 dedicated AI and data engineering experts, ensuring robust local support and development for the platform. This expansion reinforces Morocco’s strategic position as a key AI hub for Africa and beyond.
