In a significant move to bolster the region’s human capital, Sharjah-based NAMA Women Advancement (NAMA) has successfully concluded the third edition of its Level 1 Financial Literacy Programme. The initiative is designed to provide women with the essential knowledge and practical tools for effective financial management, empowering their participation in the economy.
The programme aligns with NAMA’s core mission to advance women’s economic empowerment, positioning financial education as a key driver for both personal growth and economic resilience. To date, the initiative has benefited 384 women, including retirees, homemakers, employees, and students, across its basic and advanced tracks.
A Holistic Approach to Financial Education
The third edition provided a comprehensive curriculum covering critical financial concepts through a mix of expert-led workshops, practical case studies, and tailored mentoring sessions. Participants received hands-on guidance on setting financial goals, mastering budgets, managing expenses, and building savings and investment portfolios.
The programme also addressed responsible approaches to borrowing and debt, equipping attendees with a well-rounded skill set to navigate their personal and professional financial journeys with confidence. An extended advanced track is also available for participants seeking to deepen their knowledge in complex financial planning and investment strategies.
Driving Community and Economic Development
The initiative operates under the guidance of H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of NAMA, reflecting a high-level commitment to empowering women.
H.E. Mariam Al Hammadi, Director General of NAMA, stated that the organization is committed to implementing programmes that enhance women’s knowledge of challenges directly impacting their daily lives.
“The continuation of the programme into its third year reflects a deep awareness of the importance of financial literacy as an essential skill amid the rapid changes the world is witnessing, particularly in the financial sector,” Al Hammadi said. She noted that evaluations from previous editions demonstrated a tangible impact on participants’ ability to manage resources and make sound financial decisions.
Personalised Guidance for Lasting Impact
A key feature of the programme is the provision of personalised, one-on-one mentoring sessions. These sessions are designed to help participants define their unique financial priorities and map out realistic, actionable paths toward greater financial independence.
The tailored guidance focuses on fostering clarity and confident decision-making, translating long-term goals into achievable steps. Through ongoing follow-up and structured feedback, the programme reinforces learning and supports women in developing stable and sustainable financial habits for the future.
