In a significant move for Egypt’s business landscape, Nestlé Egypt, People of Now, and Enjazat have announced the launch of the “Sustainability 101: Think Business Summit.” The new platform aims to foster cross-sector dialogue and drive impact by integrating sustainability and regenerative practices into core business strategies. The announcement was made during a reception at the Swiss Ambassador’s residence in Cairo, hosted by H.E. Dr. Andreas Baum.
A New Platform For Sustainable Business
The summit’s primary objective is to redefine sustainability as a strategic cornerstone capable of generating economic returns for businesses and communities across Egypt and the wider region. This vision is centered on the interconnectedness of the Water, Energy, and Food (WEF) Nexus. The initiative will also focus on empowering local innovators who are turning environmental and social challenges into opportunities for growth and climate resilience. The inaugural summit, organized by ievents with MOUNT Communications as the media partner, is scheduled to take place in December.
Forging Cross-Sector Collaboration
The launch event featured a panel discussion titled “Beyond Sustainability: Business, Innovation, and the Future of Regeneration,” which included Tarek Kamel, Chairman and CEO of Nestlé Egypt and Sudan; Amr Mansi, Founder and CEO of People of Now; and Mohamed El Demerdash, Co-founder and CEO of Enjazat. The session emphasized the critical need for collaboration between government, corporations, diplomats, and local innovators to create measurable impact.
“While engaging in important discussions around sustainability and regeneration, I noticed a clear gap: the absence of a unified platform that brings all stakeholders together with a vision centered on sustainability and entrepreneurship,” stated Tarek Kamel. “In partnership with Enjazat, a giant in sustainability expertise, and the leaders of the entrepreneurial ecosystem under People of Now, we aspire to build more than a one-day event by setting a year-round agenda for sustainable initiatives.”
Amr Mansi added, “At People of Now, our core mission has always been about creating impact and highlighting inspiring success stories. Just as we made entrepreneurship a celebrated movement, we are now determined to do the same with sustainability. Through this platform, we will amplify impactful messages and communicate them to the wider community.”
“Our journey at Enjazat began with a fundamental question: how can we achieve more with fewer resources?” commented Mohamed El Demerdash. “We have worked for fourteen years to prove that sustainability is not a luxury, but an effective and profitable economic approach. Knowledge remained the missing link; hence our commitment today to circulate it so that sustainability becomes a tangible reality.”
