3 Min Read

Applications are now officially open for the Algerian Agripreneurs Challenge 2025, a major national competition and support program designed to discover and accelerate the next generation of leaders in Algeria’s agritech and agribusiness sectors. The initiative will select 65 winners across two distinct tracks for a unique, tailor-made support program.

The challenge is part of the “Development of Digital and Green Entrepreneurship in Algeria” (DGA) project, implemented by GIZ Algeria and supported by the Algerian Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Micro-Enterprises, with financing from the German government (BMZ) and the European Union.

Challenge Overview

The Algerian Agripreneurs Challenge is more than a competition; it is a comprehensive support cycle aimed at accelerating innovation in the country’s agricultural sector. The program provides a structured framework and strategic guidance to help entrepreneurs transform their ideas into reality and propel existing startups to the next level of growth. The 65 selected winners will be split into two cohorts based on their project’s maturity.

Challenge Tracks

The challenge is designed to support entrepreneurs at different stages of their journey:

  • Cohort I: Idea Stage (40 Winners): This track is for entrepreneurs with an innovative idea, ranging from an early-stage concept to an advanced project with a working prototype.
  • Cohort II: Growth Stage (25 Winners): This track is for established ventures that have already received the official Algerian government “Innovative Project” or “Startup” label.

Key Benefits

All selected participants will receive a unique and tailor-made support package designed to meet their specific needs. Key benefits include:

  • Personalized Coaching: One-on-one mentorship and expert guidance.
  • Specialized Services: Access to high-level technical and business expertise.
  • Network Access: Privileged connections to a powerful network of partners, mentors, and potential investors.
  • Strategic Support: Assistance in business structuring, development, and accessing financing opportunities.

Eligibility

The competition is open to Algerian innovators who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be under the age of 40.
  • Must have a project in the agritech or agribusiness sector.
  • Applicants must fit into one of the two tracks: an innovative idea (prototype is a plus), a government-labeled “Innovative Project,” or a government-labeled “Startup.”

How to Apply

Innovators who meet the criteria can find more information and submit their applications through the official Algerian Agripreneurs website.

The final deadline for all applications is September 28, 2025.
