Notion Debuts in Arabic in First Major MENA Product Investment

3 Min Read

California-based AI workspace platform Notion has launched full Arabic language support across its platform, marking the company’s first major product investment in the Middle East. As of January 26, 2026, the widely-used platform is available in Arabic across its desktop and mobile apps, homepage, and key website sections.

The update makes Notion accessible in 21 languages and is designed to reduce friction for the millions of teams, founders, and creators in Arabic-speaking countries who build and collaborate in their preferred language.

A Response to Regional Demand

Notion’s decision to invest in Arabic localization is a direct response to years of community-led growth and sustained requests from its user base in the region. The platform, used by over 100 million people globally, has already attracted millions of users across the Middle East, including hundreds of thousands in the UAE alone.

“The Middle East has emerged as one of our most engaged communities, as the region’s vibrant startup ecosystem and rapid digital transformation have made it a natural fit for Notion’s flexible, AI-powered approach to work,” said Mick Hodgins, GM EMEA at Notion. “We now have millions of users across the region who have adopted Notion to build startups, manage teams, and create their life’s work. Arabic support is a foundation for what comes next, as we deepen our commitment to the region and the teams building the future here.”

What This Means for MENA’s Tech Ecosystem

The launch signals a significant milestone for the region’s digital ecosystem. With prominent regional customers like Emirates Foundation and Emirates Investment Bank and over 1,000 UAE startups participating in its Startups Programme, Notion has achieved a level of organic adoption that justifies localization investments typically reserved for more mature markets.

This move underscores the Middle East’s increasing appetite for advanced AI applications and highlights a gap where many global platforms lack Arabic support. It suggests the region has reached a scale where major global technology companies see a clear ROI in developing language-specific features to capture and better serve the market.

To mark the launch, Notion hosted a “Make with Notion Showcase” event in Dubai, bringing together local founders, creators, and community members. The event demonstrates the company’s commitment to engaging directly with its regional community beyond just the digital product release.
