Oman Accelerates Digital Transformation With 15 New Platforms And Key Partnerships

Oman is advancing its national digital agenda with a series of major announcements at the 34th COMEX Global Technology Exhibition. The initiatives, led by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, include the launch of 15 new government digital platforms and services, alongside the signing of six strategic agreements, all designed to accelerate the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

A Suite of New Government Digital Services

A central highlight of the event was the launch of numerous citizen and business-focused platforms. Key among them is a new Unified Government Services Portal mobile app, complete with a smart assistant, and the Thiqa digital identity app for secure access across government services. For the business community, the SMEs Development Authority launched the Riyada app for entrepreneurs, while the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion unveiled the comprehensive Oman Business Platform. These launches represent a concerted effort to streamline government interactions and improve digital accessibility for all users.

Strategic Partnerships To Boost Digital Capabilities

To support its technological push, Oman has formalized several key public-private partnerships. A significant agreement was signed between the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, technology firm Bahwan CyberTek, and various academic bodies to collaborate on developing national digital competencies and nurturing local talent. Additionally, the Environment Authority signed three contracts to enhance its digital user experience and establish national systems for tracking and resource management.

The strong and coordinated presence of multiple government entities at COMEX 2025 underscores Oman’s integrated approach to building a robust digital future. By launching new smart infrastructure and fostering strategic collaborations, the Sultanate is actively working to create a globally competitive digital economy, improve public service efficiency, and enhance citizen engagement in line with its long-term national vision.
