In a significant move to foster local talent and innovation, Vale in Oman has signed an agreement to fund the construction of a new Youth Centre branch in the Al Batinah North Governorate. The initiative, launched under the patronage of HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, aims to create one of Oman’s most advanced hubs for youth development, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

A Hub For The Next Generation Of Innovators

Set to open in the Wilayat of Suhar by 2029, the state-of-the-art facility will span over 20,000 square metres. It is designed to provide a comprehensive ecosystem for young Omanis to develop future-forward skills and transform ideas into viable businesses.

The centre will feature co-working spaces, lecture and training halls, and specialized technology and multimedia labs. It will also house dedicated innovation zones, including a virtual-reality hall, sound and photography studios, and an e-gaming area, catering to the diverse interests of the region’s youth. Dedicated facilities for freelancers and small enterprises will be integrated to nurture a vibrant community of entrepreneurs.

Driving Local Economic Growth

The project’s impact extends beyond youth empowerment to regional economic development. The construction phase alone is expected to engage more than 100 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), generating new jobs and business opportunities throughout the Al Batinah North Governorate.

Once operational, the centre will serve as a dynamic catalyst for creativity, learning, and collaboration, positioning the region as a key centre for youth-driven innovation and economic growth within the Sultanate.

A Strategic Vision For Omani Youth

The partnership builds upon Vale’s existing collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, reinforcing its commitment to community development and knowledge transfer.

“At Vale, we view development as a continuum — one that begins with industry but finds its true meaning in people,” said Nasser al Azri, CEO of Vale in Oman. “From our base in the Wilayat of Liwa, we’ve seen how industrial investment can spark opportunity, new skills and stronger communities. Supporting the Youth Centre in Al Batinah North Governorate ensures that the value created through our operations translates into knowledge, innovation and empowerment for Omani youth.”
