In a significant move to bolster diversity within its growing technology landscape, Tech Oman has announced the launch of TechWoman, a new initiative dedicated to empowering women and increasing their participation in the sector. The launch was timed to coincide with the country’s celebrations for International Women’s Day.
The initiative is set to create a dedicated platform that encourages women to pursue careers in technology while simultaneously supporting those already in the field to expand their skills, professional networks, and leadership capabilities.
Fostering a Collaborative Ecosystem
TechWoman will roll out a series of events, seminars, workshops, and meetups designed to provide tangible opportunities for women in the industry. These forums will allow participants to engage directly with seasoned professionals, exchange critical knowledge, and foster collaboration within Oman’s technology ecosystem.
The programme will bring together a diverse group of technology professionals, entrepreneurs, students, and aspiring innovators, offering them a space to share experiences, showcase their achievements, and build lasting professional connections.

Tariq Al Barwani, President of Tech Oman, emphasized that the initiative reflects the critical importance of diversity in driving innovation within the technology sector.
He noted that TechWoman aims to inspire the next generation of female technologists by creating an environment that promotes learning, collaboration, and leadership, ultimately strengthening the broader technology community in Oman.
Year-Round Programming and Inclusivity
A comprehensive series of knowledge-sharing sessions, networking events, and training programmes will be rolled out throughout the year to support women interested in shaping the future of technology in the country.
Demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity, the initiative is open to both Omani nationals and expatriates living in Oman. Registration is available for free through the Tech Oman website.
