Oman’s Future Entrepreneurs Bootcamp Concludes, Launching 33 New Startup Ideas

The Future Entrepreneurs bootcamp, a national initiative aimed at instilling a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among school students, has concluded in the Dhofar governorate. The program is part of the Promising Omani Startups initiatives, implemented in collaboration between the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Riyada) and the Ministry of Education.


By the Numbers

The bootcamp was a nationwide tour that engaged hundreds of students:

  • 530+ Students: The number of students from grades 7-9 who were attracted to the program.
  • 11 Governorates: The number of governorates the educational and training journey covered.
  • 33 Innovative Ideas: The number of new startup project ideas presented by the students.

A Nationwide Journey of Innovation

The bootcamp was a comprehensive educational and training journey that began in the Musandam governorate and traveled through Muscat and a number of other governorates across the Sultanate. The program focused on developing innovative thinking skills, enhancing teamwork, and instilling the concepts of technology-based entrepreneurship at an early age. This experience resulted in the students presenting 33 innovative ideas for startup projects, which included technological, environmental, and social solutions.


Building a Foundation for Oman Vision 2040

Her Excellency Halima Al-Zar’i, Chairperson of Riyada, stated during the closing ceremony that the bootcamp represents an important milestone in spreading the culture of innovation among school students. She noted that “investing in youth from an early age establishes a solid foundation for building a diverse and sustainable economy in line with the goals of ‘Oman Vision 2040’

The Future Entrepreneurs bootcamp is one of the national pillars within the Promising Omani Startups program. This broader program aims to empower entrepreneurs at various age levels and enhance the Sultanate’s position as a vital center for technology-based innovation and entrepreneurship, both regionally and internationally.
