The third edition of the Motakameloon Forum, a key initiative focused on empowering entrepreneurs with disabilities, was recently held in Salalah, Dhofar Governorate. Organized by the Omani Association for Persons with Disabilities, the event centered on the theme of strengthening partnerships to support and integrate these entrepreneurs into the national economy, in alignment with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
Fostering Inclusive Entrepreneurship
The forum provided a vital platform to showcase the achievements and potential of entrepreneurs with disabilities. The agenda featured inspirational success stories, working papers on empowerment and job creation, and a panel discussion on the role of institutions in fostering entrepreneurship. Amal bint Ahmed Al Ibrahim, President of the association’s Dhofar branch, emphasized the organization’s commitment to enhancing the active presence of people with disabilities in all fields, particularly entrepreneurship, which she described as a “field that opens broad horizons for creativity, production, and participation in building the nation.”
Strengthening Public-Private Partnerships
A primary focus of the forum was to highlight the importance of collaboration between public and private sector entities. The event aimed to showcase the efforts of supporting organizations, raise community awareness, and emphasize the need for robust institutional and marketing support. This collaborative spirit was solidified through the signing of several new agreements designed to create a more inclusive and supportive business environment. The forum successfully brought attention to the shared responsibility of integrating entrepreneurs with disabilities into the workforce and promoting their contributions to sustainable development.
