Orange Corners Morocco Selects 15 Startups for New Water and Sanitation Cohort

Orange Corners Morocco has officially launched its latest acceleration cohort dedicated to the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector following a rigorous selection bootcamp. Held on December 4 and 5, the event coincided with the second edition of the Dutch Moroccan Water Days and was organized by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Morocco as part of the World Water Congress in Marrakech. This initiative highlights the growing emphasis on sustainable tech solutions within the Moroccan startup ecosystem.

rigorous selection process

The selection bootcamp attracted significant interest from across the Kingdom, receiving over 260 applications from aspiring entrepreneurs. From this extensive pool, 36 startups were pre-selected to participate in the intensive two-day event. The process culminated in the selection of 15 finalist projects representing 10 different Moroccan cities. These finalists pitched their innovative solutions before a jury of experts at the VNG International Marrakech headquarters, where they were evaluated on the viability of their business models as well as their potential social and environmental impact.

strategic partnerships and ecosystem support

The initiative relied heavily on a network of strategic partners committed to fostering entrepreneurship in the region. The launch ceremony and results announcement took place at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of Marrakech-Safi. The program was executed in collaboration with Enactus Morocco and Wavemakers United, with operational support from Incubateur Bidaya. The diverse jury and support network included industry veterans and experts, ensuring that the selected startups receive robust guidance as they begin their acceleration journey.
