Orange Jordan Launches PASS Program to Connect 130 Startups with the Private Sector

3 Min Read

Telecommunications provider Orange Jordan has launched the Private Sector Access to Support Startups (PASS) programme to bridge the gap between emerging local ventures and established corporate networks. Unveiled as part of the broader “Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment” (E4DE) project, the initiative is structured to drive startup productivity, increase sales, and secure long-term commercial viability.

Quick Facts

  • Backs 130 startups across Jordanian governorates.
  • Operates through October 2026 to boost sales.
  • Co-funded by GIZ, MoDEE, BMZ, and EU.

Integrating Startups into Corporate Value Chains

Navigating the transition from early-stage growth to enterprise-level partnerships remains a critical hurdle for regional founders. To address this, the PASS programme delivers practical, market-oriented support tailored to the actual operational requirements of startups at varying stages of maturity.

Through structured capacity development, the initiative directly facilitates linkages between entrepreneurs and private sector actors of varying sizes. The core objective is to improve startup readiness, enabling founders to confidently engage with corporate partners, large-scale suppliers, and enterprise clients.

By providing targeted skills development, specialized training, and expert mentorship, the programme equips founders with the tools required to enter relevant value chains. This direct exposure to the private sector strengthens their market positioning and contributes to the creation of highly competitive, sustainable business models.

Backing Jordan’s Local Ecosystem

The PASS programme represents a collaborative effort to scale Jordan’s entrepreneurial framework. It is implemented by the German development agency GIZ in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE), and operates on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union.

For Orange Jordan, the initiative aligns with its broader corporate strategy to stimulate economic growth and empower SMEs across the nation’s governorates. By driving an inclusive entrepreneurial environment, the telecommunications operator aims to provide youth and emerging founders with tangible opportunities to scale their operations.

Orange Jordan officially opened applications for the programme across its platforms in February, inviting local founders from targeted governorates to leverage the initiative to expand their professional networks and secure vital private sector partnerships.
