Telecom giant Orange has officially opened applications for the 16th edition of the Orange Social Ventures Prize in Middle East and Africa (OSVP). Aimed at identifying and scaling high-impact entrepreneurial projects, the initiative targets founders utilizing artificial intelligence, big data, and cybersecurity to solve pressing regional challenges in sectors like agriculture, education, environment, and healthcare.

Quick Facts

  • Applications run from March 26 to May 10, 2026.
  • First-place international winner receives €25,000 in funding.
  • Competition spans 17 countries across MEA.

A Two-Tiered Selection Process for Regional Founders

The OSVP operates through a structured pipeline designed to filter and elevate the most promising tech solutions across the 17 Middle Eastern and African countries where Orange operates. The competition kicks off with a national phase. During this period, local juries composed of ecosystem stakeholders and Orange representatives will evaluate applications and select national winners.

Following the national selection, the top three startups from each participating country will advance to the international phase. An internal Orange committee will further narrow down the pool, selecting 10 finalists for the International Grand Prix and five for the International Women’s Prize.

The final stage, scheduled to begin in October 2026, will feature a jury of tech experts and entrepreneurial leaders who will select the ultimate winners.

Non-Dilutive Capital and Strategic Acceleration

Beyond initial visibility, the OSVP provides significant financial backing to help early-stage ventures scale their operations. The prize structure awards €25,000 to the first-place winner, €15,000 for second place, and €10,000 for third. Additionally, the International Women’s Prize allocates €20,000 to an outstanding female-led venture.

Financial capital is paired with structural support. Winners gain entry into the Orange Digital Centers, unlocking strategic partnerships, market expansion opportunities, and direct access to specialized expertise. To date, the OSVP has processed over 17,600 applications, establishing itself as a consistent growth catalyst for the regional startup ecosystem.
