The fifth training module of the Green Scale Lab, the advanced track of the Green Forward Program, was held on September 23, 2025, focusing on transforming Palestine’s Business Support Organizations (BSOs) into leaders of the green economy. The program is funded by the European Union and implemented by

SPARK and Flow Accelerator to foster a green and circular economy in the region.

Shifting From Support To Leadership

The session, titled “The Role of BSOs in the Green Transition and Public–Private Partnerships,” was led by Laith Kassis, CEO of EnterVentures. It brought together four key Palestinian BSOs: the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees (PARC), the Applied Research Institute–Jerusalem (ARIJ), the Palestine Green Building Council, and the Economic and Social Development Center (ESDC). The training’s core objective was to explore how these institutions can evolve from traditional support roles to become catalysts for Palestine’s green transition. Kassis framed the green transition not as a trend, but as a fundamental transformation in how economies must operate in response to climate change and global ESG standards.

Building Green Strategies And Partnerships

During the workshop, participants focused on refining their institutional strategies to better align with green objectives, embedding sustainability as a core value. The session also explored successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models, drawing on regional case studies in renewable energy and waste management. A practical exercise involved mapping the local ecosystem’s stakeholders—including ministries, municipalities, and financial institutions—to identify immediate opportunities for collaboration. The key takeaway was that BSOs are uniquely positioned to be leaders and advocates who can bridge the gap between entrepreneurs, government, and the private sector to shape a more resilient future.
