G42’s big data analytics and AI company, Presight, has announced a landmark partnership with sister company and hyperscale infrastructure operator, Khazna Data Centers. The deal will see the deployment of a cutting-edge AI-powered facility management system across 30 of Khazna’s data centers throughout the UAE, representing a significant upgrade for approximately 70% of the nation’s data center capacity.
An AI-Powered Command And Control Center
Operating from a secure AI hub in Abu Dhabi, the new platform will provide unified, 24/7 oversight across all facilities. The system is designed to leverage AI to meticulously monitor multiple operational parameters, including energy consumption, cooling system efficiency, equipment performance, and security protocols. Its predictive capabilities are a key feature, enabling the system to identify potential faults before they occur. This allows for proactive maintenance, which minimizes downtime, reduces unnecessary servicing, and continuously optimizes operations across the entire network. The platform’s smart cooling integration is particularly crucial, as it will optimize energy usage to address the growing scrutiny of data center energy consumption amid the expansion required for high-density AI applications.
G42’s ‘Eating Its Own Dogfood’ Strategy
This collaboration is more than a simple vendor agreement; it is a powerful demonstration of the G42 group’s strategy to leverage its own ecosystem’s expertise. Fueling Regional Hyperscale Ambitions
The implementation of this AI system is a critical enabler for Khazna’s aggressive expansion plans. Khazna Data Centers is set to add more than 1GW in operational capacity over the next five years, supported by $2.62 billion in secured financing. This growth includes deploying over 400 megawatts across international markets like Saudi Arabia and Italy, alongside developing new hyperscale facilities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ajman. Furthermore, Khazna is delivering infrastructure for Stargate UAE, part of the planned 5GW UAE-US AI Campus in Abu Dhabi. This AI-powered management system will be foundational to efficiently operating this rapidly growing portfolio, which could exceed 1.6GW in computing power by 2030.
