Qatar and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Economic Partnership in High-Level Riyadh Meeting

A high-level working group from the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council convened in Riyadh this week, signaling a continued commitment to deepening economic, trade, and industrial ties between the two Gulf powerhouses. The meeting marks a significant step in aligning the nations’ strategic interests and fostering a more integrated regional economy.

The meeting was co-chaired by Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki, Undersecretary of Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Eng Rakan bin Waddah Tarabzoni, Undersecretary for International Economic Affairs at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Economy and Planning.

Boosting Bilateral Trade and Industry

Discussions centered on tangible mechanisms to enhance the flow of goods and services between the two countries. Key agenda items included simplifying import and export procedures and identifying new avenues to promote bilateral trade.
The committee explored strategies to strengthen cooperation across key industrial sectors, aiming to leverage mutual strengths and create a more robust, interconnected supply chain that serves the shared interests of both nations.

Reviewing Progress and Strategic Objectives
