Qatar Spotlights Top Innovators at the 9th Digital Business Awards

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has announced the winners of the 9th edition of the Qatar Digital Business Award 2025, celebrating organizations and individuals at the forefront of the nation’s digital transformation. The prestigious ceremony, held under the patronage of HE Minister Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, honored companies driving innovation and contributing to Qatar’s vision of a knowledge-based economy.

A National Platform for Digital Excellence

The Qatar Digital Business Award serves as a key national platform for recognizing technological creativity and fostering public-private collaboration. In his address, HE Al Mannai emphasized the transformative impact of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data analytics on national industries, highlighting their role in enhancing efficiency and service delivery across sectors. The awards program reinforces the country’s commitment to building a competitive and sustainable digital ecosystem.

Startups and SMEs at the Core of Transformation

HE Al Mannai underscored the vital role of startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Qatar’s digital journey. “Qatar’s leadership in digital transformation is the result of long-term strategic vision and continuous effort,” he stated. “Startups and SMEs are at the core of this success — they play a vital role in shaping the digital economy and positioning Qatar as a regional leader in innovation and competitiveness.” This year’s edition saw 341 submissions from companies across various sectors, with 40 projects advancing to the final round after a rigorous evaluation by a panel of 35 independent experts.

Recognizing 2025’s Digital Champions

The awards ceremony honored winners across 13 distinct categories, showcasing a diverse range of digital solutions and services. Among the standout winners in the startup ecosystem were Cytomate, which was named Best Startup of the Year, and AppLab, which secured the award for Best Scale-Up of the Year. Other notable winners included Ooredoo and Monaqasat for Best Digital Transformation, Qatar Airways and Qatar Charity for Best Digital Experience, and Meeza for Best ICT Service Provider.
