In a significant move to strengthen Qatar’s human capital, the Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), founded by Qatar Foundation, has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA). The strategic collaboration aims to synchronize training initiatives and advance national priorities in career development and professional learning, fostering a more skilled and prepared workforce.
The agreement was formalized by Saad Abdulla Al-Kharji, Executive Director of QCDC, and Dr. Khalifa Al-Salahi Al-Yafei, Chief Executive Officer of QFBA.
A Strategic Alliance for National Talent
This partnership is designed to create a more integrated ecosystem for professional growth in Qatar. By combining QCDC’s focus on career guidance with QFBA’s expertise in professional learning, the collaboration seeks to build clearer pathways for individuals to acquire relevant skills and make informed career choices that align with the nation’s economic needs.
Saad Abdulla Al-Kharji, Executive Director of QCDC, emphasized the synergy of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration strengthens the link between career development and real-world workforce requirements, and we expect it to translate into practical, high-quality programs that support youth, practitioners, and the wider community.”
Dr. Khalifa Al Salahi Al Yafei, CEO of QFBA, added that the MoU marks a strategic step toward advancing professional development practices across the country. He noted, “This partnership reflects the Academy’s commitment to building an integrated training ecosystem grounded in quality and innovation, aimed at equipping talent with the skills required to keep pace with the rapidly evolving world of work.”
Joint Programs and Certification
A cornerstone of the collaboration is the joint delivery of a specialized career development certification program, licensed by the globally recognized National Career Development Association (NCDA). This initiative will professionalize career guidance standards in the country.
Under the agreement, QFBA will also consult on and deliver customized programs tailored to QCDC’s specific needs. Both organizations will maintain operational delivery plans and jointly track the outcomes of their initiatives to ensure sustained quality and measurable impact over the long term.
The partnership reinforces a shared goal to standardize career development practices across educational and workplace settings, aligning with QCDC’s broader efforts to establish a national-level career ecosystem. This follows QCDC’s recent launch of the region’s first Arabic-led Post-Graduate Diploma in Career Development, further strengthening the pipeline of specialized practitioners in Qatar.
